Beneora and Givebutter

What Givebutter documents

Sourced claims only

How Beneora differs

Statements about Beneora, not about them

Every line below describes our own design decisions. None of it asserts a gap in another product.

  1. Beneora has no donor-facing tip prompt

We are subscription-funded, so nothing in our checkout asks the donor to fund the software. That is a business-model choice with a real tradeoff: we cost money where a tip-funded platform can cost nothing.

  2. Beneora is narrower on purpose

No events, no auctions, no broad marketing automation in Release 1. We spend that surface area on the gift-to-deposit and evidence chain instead.

  3. Beneora treats reconciliation as a workspace, not a report

Deposit matching, per-gift fee visibility, an exception queue with suggested causes, and a close batch that locks a period are the objects we build around.

  4. Beneora carries restriction through to donor-visible evidence

Allocation, fulfillment, attached evidence and a stated outcome are modelled records rather than a campaign update.

  • You want breadth across events, auctions and peer-to-peer today — we do not offer those.
  • A zero-subscription cost structure matters more than avoiding a donor-facing tip prompt.
  • You need a platform in production this quarter.
  • Every module outside identity, roles, tenants and organization records is an interactive prototype on illustrative data.
  • We have no live payment processing, so payouts and deposits are modelled rather than moving money.
  • Our pricing is not final; we publish packaging shape and fee principles instead.

Methodology

How this page was written

Last reviewed August 4, 2026.

Givebutter is a trademark of its owner. We use no vendor logos and quote only official pages. Vendor products change; check the linked pages for current details.

  1. 1Categories are described from published vendor material, public documentation and pricing pages, plus our own operational experience of the workflow.
  2. 2We compare categories of tool rather than scoring products against each other. A category comparison stays true longer than a feature table.
  3. 3We never state that a named vendor lacks a capability. Named-vendor pages quote only what that vendor documents, with a source link and a review date.
  4. 4No quantitative comparison is published unless both numbers come from a citable source under the same definition. We publish no invented percentages.
  5. 5Beneora rows state present status honestly, including modules that are prototypes on illustrative data.
  6. 6Anything we get wrong should be corrected. The correction link on every comparison page reaches the people who wrote it.

Found something inaccurate or out of date? Send a correction — we will fix the page and change the review date.

Build the donor-operations layer with us

We are working with a small number of US and Canadian nonprofits who feel the reconciliation and donor-data pain most acutely. Partners shape the sequence, see the honest status of every module, and are never charged for a capability that is still a prototype.
